Hello, I am creating a quick wordpress blog about myself and Watchpoint Weimaraners because my website suddenly became corrupted and is no longer there. I purchased my first Weimaraner in 1975 from John and Pat Horan. The Johmar line was no for healthy dogs which did well in the show ring and were excellent hunters. I found the bitch that I first purchased and named Ch. Johmar's Mischievous Gremlin CD, NRD,V (Monc) to be a fabulous hunter from the age of 6 weeks and a superior water dog. I bred my first litter in 1979 taking Monc to the top show dog in the country Ch. Colsidex Standing Ovation (Joga). I kept a male from that litter naming him Ch. Watchpoint's Ambassador who as my first show dog earned well over 100 'Best of Breeds. The Watchpoint line became known for beautiful, intelligent show dogs with superior hunting ability. Those people who hunted all of their lives and purchased a Watchpoint puppy all claimed that this was the best hunting dogs that they had ever owned.
Do to unfortunate circumstances, the Watchpoint line was lost and in looking around for a new line to work with I chose Susan Thomas and her line of Camelot dogs. These wer the dogs that I could always recognize in the ring and found them to be particular sound good looking dogs. The first bitch that I puchased from Sue was CamelotN Watchpoint ' s Everafter RN (Eve). Eve was bred to Ch. Camalot's Keeping The Faith (Duncan) and I kept one female from that litter Watchpoint N Camelot's Over The Top (Ava). Ava has nine AKC Championship points, but needs two Majors to finish. Being older and Majors hard to find, I decided to breed Ava and I wil take her back out to finish. Ava was bred to GrCh. Camelot's Knockin' On Heaven's Door (Stewie). This litter born on March 23, 2011 and are currently available to approved homes. We have eight puppies, 6 Males and 2 Females. I will add some pictures of parents and babies for you to see. Both parents are particularly outgoing, people loving, sound dogs. Both have beautiful, clean flowing movement.
Besides Ava, I co-own with Sue, Ch. Camelot N Watchpoit's Legacy (Lacy). Lacey was bred one year ago to Stewie and produced a litter of eleven puppies on April 17, 2010. Sue Thomas took two females from that litter and I kept two females from that litter. They are Watchpoint N Camelot's Reward (Gem) who is currently being show by Peter Kubacz for me and already has garnered several points and a
best Puppy in Show at the Maryland Sporting Dog Association. My second bitch Watchpoint N Camelot's Rave Review (Crystal) is more slowly developing and will be shown after Gem completes her AKC Championship. I have high hopes for Crystal also, as she looks just like Lacey.
